Gill Taylor

I've lived in Weymouth in the same house for more than 40 years. I've been a Councillor for Weymouth and Portland Borough Council since 2008 and then for Dorset Council and Weymouth Town Council since they were formed in 2019. I am currently the Chair of the People and Health Scrutiny Committee which I really enjoy. Prior to that, I worked at Cefas in the Fish Health Inspectorate. I am married to Trefor and between us we have four children. I became a Councillor because I wanted to give something back to the community that I had lived in for many years and I wanted to help people. I love meeting residents and doing ward work and hopefully I make a difference to people's lives.  My main hobbies are reading (always fiction), embroidery and doing puzzles.
