Weymouth Town Council - Wey Valley
Matt moved to Weymouth in his childhood and is very proud to call it home. Matt Bell was elected to Weymouth Town Council in 2022, after winning the Wey Valley Ward By-election.
Since joining the council Matt has tried to be as proactive as possible, despite having two young children and being a full-time school teacher. He has taken on several roles including Sports and Activities Champion, Rights of Way Liaison Officer and Vice-chair of the Services Committee. Matt also sits on the Planning and Licensing Committee.
Matt works as a secondary school teacher in his ward and aims to represent the views and needs of young people whenever possible. Matt is also passionate about sustainability and encouraging residents to be involved in activities that make the most of our amazing natural and built environment. Weymouth and South Dorset must be areas where people can thrive and prosper in glorious surroundings.
